Family Immigration (Spouse/ Children)

Citizens or permanent residents (i.e. sponsors) of New Zealand can apply for their spouse and children under the age of 17 as long as they can provide support for the living expense of the applicants and need not to seek welfare assistance from the New Zealand government after immigration.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. If an applicant is a spouse: must provide 12-month proof of residency and a proof of relationship with the sponsor
  2. If an applicant is a child, they must be:
  • 17 or under, single; or
  • 18 to 20 years old, single with no children; or
  • 21 to 24 years old, single with no children, financially dependent on parents

Friendly reminder from Goldmax Consultants:

  • The sponsor needs to prove that New Zealand is its daily place of residence
